Víðistaðatún
Víðistaðatún is a beautiful public park near Víðistaðakirkja church and the Hraunbúar scout headquarters in Hafnarfjörður, offering a variety of activities for all ages. The park features numerous outdoor sculptures to explore, along with plenty of fun for children, including a zipline, a bouncy pillow, a castle playground, and a forest grove ideal for play. Visitors can use the nearby barbecue shelter when hunger strikes, located close to the playground. The park also boasts Hafnarfjörður's only tennis court and a six-hole frisbee golf course, free to use without prior booking, with an information board about rules and layout near the church. Additionally, Víðistaðatún has a campsite open from mid-May to late August and a large event field that hosts annual activities, such as dog shows by the Icelandic Kennel Club, the Viking Festival organized by the Rimmugýgur group, and regular cricket training sessions by the Icelandic Cricket Association during the summer.
