Cycling through Hafnarfjörður

The route begins at Ásvallalaug in Hafnarfjörður. From there, you cycle toward the Keilir golf course, where beautiful views greet cyclists. The ride continues along Hvaleyrarbraut until you reach the intersection with Ásbraut, passing by Suðurbæjarlaug swimming pool. To avoid a steeper hill, the route follows Hvammabraut, passing the town’s cemetery before crossing the bridge over Reykjanesbraut. The path continues along Kaldárselsvegur, passing the stables and the Þöll plant nursery. Next, you take the next turn on the right and enter a gravel path that leads toward Kjóadalur. The path then runs along the western side of Hvaleyrarvatn. This area is lush and tranquil, offering a unique nature experience. From Hvaleyrarvatn, the route continues on a gravel road that leads back to Vellir in Hafnarfjörður. Finally, you return to the starting point at Ásvallalaug.
