Hafravatn

Hafravatn in Mosfellsbær is a peaceful and beautiful outdoor recreation area located just east of Úlfarsfell.The natural surroundings are diverse and lush, with rich birdlife around the lake. It is common to see swans, loons, ducks, and other species that inhabit the area, especially during the summer. The area is ideal for families, nature enthusiasts, and hikers year-round. Marked hiking trails and informational signs can be found around the lake. Hafravatn is also popular among anglers. Both Arctic char and brown trout can be caught there, and fishing permits are provided free of charge by the Reykjavík Angling Club. In winter, ice fishing through the frozen lake is a common activity.
