From Laugardalur to Skarfaklettur and Vogar
This diverse and scenic 12 km cycling route begins in the heart of Laugardalur. From the starting point, you cycle past the Ásmundur Sveinsson Sculpture Museum, where the renowned artist’s works decorate the garden. You then turn right toward Sæbraut and cross the road in the direction of Laugarnestangi.
There, you follow a path along the shoreline with beautiful views over the bay and out toward Viðey. Along the way, you’ll also find the Sigurjón Ólafsson Museum, which is well worth a visit.
The route continues to Skarfaklettur, a popular spot for sea swimming and the ferry to Viðey Island. It is an ideal place to take a break and enjoy the view.
From there, the path leads through Vatnagarðar and Skútuvogur. Next, you follow the trail from Bátavogur. Then, you cross Sæbraut again and turn left onto the bike path heading back toward Laugardalur.
The final stretch runs through Laugardalur’s green trails where trees, flowers, and parkland provide cyclists with a peaceful and pleasant end to an enjoyable urban loop.
