Reynisvatn
Reynisvatn is a small lake located east of Grafarholt in Reykjavík, and it is a popular area for outdoor activities. A rapidly growing forest surrounds the lake, providing shelter and attracting various bird species such as the golden plover, whimbrel, snipe, and meadow pipit. It is ideal to sit on the benches placed by the lake and observe the beautiful nature throughout the year. A well-maintained 1.3 km long path encircles the lake, making it a pleasant walk for one’s health. From Reynisvatn, there is also access to numerous trails that extend throughout the Austurheiðar area, perfect for walking, cycling, or running.
