Rútstún

Rútstún is a hidden gem in the heart of Kársnes, where Kópavogur residents gather every year on June 17th to celebrate and enjoy the Icelandic Independence Day. The area is exceptionally sheltered, thanks in large part to the protective tree belts planted around the field in 1959. It features a playground for children and a popular sledding hill in winter. Rútstún is a great spot for outdoor fun, with Kópavogslaug swimming pool within walking distance for a refreshing swim afterward.
