The Reykjavík Circle
The cycling route begins at Harpa. Ride south along Lækjargata, past the Tjörnin pond and Hljómskálagarður park. Take care of pedestrians if riding on the sidewalk. Cross the pedestrian bridge over Hringbraut and cycle westward, crossing the outflow from Vatnsmýrin and heading toward the National Museum of Iceland. From there, turn left onto Suðurgata and ride toward Skerjafjörður. At the end of the runway, follow the bike path along Einarsnes and continue to the old oil depot in Skerjafjörður, where the bike path runs through. Then, cycle eastward on the path toward Nauthólsvík. Upon reaching Nauthólsvík, continue east along Fossvogur and cross the bridge over Kringlumýrarbraut. Proceed through Fossvogur to the underpass beneath Breiðholtsbraut and into Elliðaárdalur valley. Turn left and follow the path along the Elliðaár rivers, passing through the underpass at Ártúnsbrekka, and continue alongside the rivers until reaching the red pedestrian and cycling bridge near the estuary. Follow the path along Naustavogur, ride by the shoreline, then turn up Kleppsmýrarvegur and cross Sæbraut. Continue cycling along Skeiðarvogur until you join the path along Suðurlandsbraut. Follow the path westward, crossing the intersection at Kringlumýrarbraut, and continue along Suðurlandsbraut until turning right down Katrínartún. At Sæbraut, cross over and join the path along the shoreline. Turn left and cycle back to the starting point at Harpa.
