The Reykjavík Circle
This bike ride begins at Harpa. From there, you cycle south along Lækjargata, passing by the Pond (Tjörnin) and Hljómskálagarður park. Caution is advised if biking on the sidewalk due to pedestrian traffic. You then cross the pedestrian bridge over Hringbraut, continuing west, riding along Vatnsmýrin and toward the National Museum of Iceland. At that point, turn left onto Suðurgata and continue biking toward Skerjafjörður. At the end of the airport runway, there is a bike path that leads along Einarsnes and continues on to the old oil depot in Skerjafjörður, where the bike path goes through. Next, you head east along the path toward Nauthólsvík. When you reach Nauthólsvík, continue east along Fossvogur Bay, crossing the bridge over Kringlumýrarbraut. The route continues through Fossvogur valley, reaching a tunnel under Breiðholtsbraut and leading into Elliðaárdalur valley. Turn left and bike along the Elliðaár rivers, going through the tunnel beneath Ártúnsbrekka. You cycle around Geirsnef, cross Sæbraut, and enter a path alongside Suðurlandsbraut. Follow the path west, crossing the intersection at Kringlumýrarbraut, and continue along Laugarvegur, turning right down Katrínartún. Once you reach Sæbraut, cross it and head down to the path along the shoreline, turning left and cycling back to the starting point at Harpa.
