Vestursvæðin

Vestursvæðin is considered the countryside of Seltjarnarnes and a unique natural gem. The shoreline is ideal for outdoor activities and teems with life worth exploring. The birdlife is particularly diverse, and by Bakkatjörn, there is a birdwatching hut with a walking path encircling the pond. The area is very popular among runners and cyclists, offering excellent paths and stretching equipment for post-workout exercises. Additionally, there is a golf course where golfers can enjoy the surrounding beauty in harmony with the bustling birdlife. Benches are scattered throughout the area, providing spots to sit and take in the surroundings. The area is also home to the Urtagarður herb garden near Nesstofa, showcasing medicinal plants that were historically used when Nesstofa served as the residence of the country's chief physician.
